Best Puzzle Game: Imagine Cup Hackathon @ RIT
Designer for HexColored, a color combinatorics puzzle game made in Unity. Released on the Google Play Store.
Developed September 2016 through April 2018
Presented at Imagine RIT 2018 and RPI GameFest 2017
Worked on tutorial structure and puzzle placement in order to refine the difficulty curve throughout the 200+ puzzles in the game. Helped test, iterate, and provide feedback on the other’s puzzle designs, while also making my own (levels 5-25, 41-44, assorted levels in 60-80 range). I acted as playtesting lead, working to collect feedback and turn it into actionable task lists for further development. In addition, I worked on platform integration of advertisements and in-app purchases. Lastly, I acted as the primary coder for finding and fixing performance problems along with testing on multiple platforms.
HexColored started in September 2016 as a class project named ColorCoded. It continued development as a passion project with members from the original team until 2017, when ColorCoded was rewarded funding from RIT’s Magic Spell Studios over the summer. It was renamed to HexColored and development work continued into 2018, with a release on the Google Play Store on April 28th, 2018.
